Ghosts of Christmas Past (Orwell Edition)

Family Christmas cartoon specials have been a regular yearly treat for my family.

I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s to help give you some perspective.

Last night, we ran thru the trifecta of Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

The Santa Claus version was near a full hour.  There were some scenes in it neither my wife nor I remembered.  But some of it touched our hearts this year.

Why am I writing this?

“Either we all live in a decent world, or nobody does.” ~ George Orwell

Because back in 1970, it was okay to talk about God and Christmas in what was a very prime time and mainstream children’s special.

There was a scene where Kris Kringle and his girl Jessica got married in the woods alone on Christmas Eve.  And there was a reference to the baby Jesus that made me smile.

It wasn’t overt and in your face type thing but wedding vows in front of God just was woven into the story in the most natural way.

How strange it is that God is no longer woven into such shows?

It’s a sad reminder of how far we’ve fallen.

This was a nation founded by Christians with God clearly in mind.  That was nearly 250 years ago and yet Christianity was still being celebrated up to the 200 year mark.

“All rulers in all ages have tried to impose a false view of the world upon their followers.” ~ George Orwell

These last 50 years have been nothing but one small attack after another, one little paper cut at a time.  A slow drain on our morals and values.

The destruction of the American Way, an idea we fought world wars over, has been allowed to be slowly dissolved right before our eyes.

“The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” ~ George Orwell

What Russia couldn’t accomplish with the nuclear arms race, China and other bad actors have been able to do by throwing money around to politicians and industry and culture.

We always have known that China plays the long game on everything.  This is one more example.

But have I really identified the bad actors in this drama?  No.

This is nothing more than the eternal fight between good and evil.  This nothing more than another of Satan’s attacks on us.

And good men and women have allowed it.

“The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth.” ~ George Orwell

When something doesn’t begin with a cataclysmic event, like a Pearl Harbor or a 9/11, we don’t recognize the war as being a war.   But when we are invaded slowly, when our culture is encouraged to accept small changes in our morals, we are frogs in what eventually becomes boiling water.

I want to encourage you to speak up and tell the Truth (capital T truth).  Point out the absolute lunacy as often as you can.  Wake people up.

“The further a society drifts from truth the more it will hate those who speak it.” ~ George Orwell

The ultimate goal of the evil one is the destruction of that which is Godly.  If you don’t take a stand now, you might lose the opportunity to in the near future.

Pull the wool from your eyes.

“All tyrannies rule through fraud and force, but once the fraud is exposed they must rely exclusively on force.” ~ George Orwell

If we don’t protect our way of life, who will?

We are also seeing the Emperor has no clothes on.  We all see the Fraud and Corruption all around us.  Now that so many are awake to this, they attempt to rule us with Force, mandates, regulations, and sheer abuse of power.

That which many call Conspiracy Theories, I call Spoiler Alerts.

“It’s not so much staying alive, it’s staying human that’s important. What counts is that we don’t betray each other.” ~ George Orwell
