Feminism from my Youth to Now…

Feminism.  It’s a term that means different things to different people.  If you attack feminism, you risk losing friendly acquaintances.  If you don’t attack it for what it’s become these days, it will own you.

I’ll risk losing friendly acquaintances.

I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s.  Birth control had just hit about the time I was conceived.  I’m glad my parents were still in their baby making years and not in some sort of “selfish phase” I see so many young couples in today.   I managed to get born and I’m obviously forever grateful!

But, oft noted, birth control led to the sexual revolution of the late 60’s and early 70’s. Viet Nam was going on, local men were dying, news reports would show body counts every night with little red and blue soldier outlines with numbers in the middle.  President Johnson addressing the nation on TV is probably my youngest political memory.  But I digress (as I always do…)

I saw strong men like my father start to soften in the face of the overwhelming Women’s Lib movement.  (Yeah, they called it Liberation back then).  He received a little plastic statue on one of his birthdays.  It had a parody male figure with a giant screw  going through his body sideways.  It said “MVP”  Male Chauvinist Pig.   I can’t remember who gave it to him, but he accepted it with pride and stuck it up on his mantle for all to see.

The original Agree and Amplify.  Looking back, it makes me laugh every time I think about it.

But he eventually softened a bit.  We all seem to soften a bit as we age.  Perhaps, we just run out of fingers to plug the dam as more and more holes violate our dry existence?  I don’t know.  I hope to never find out.  Complacency Kills.  No two ways around it.

So the Free Love thing was kicking in.  Everyone I could see, thru 10-12 year old eyes, was getting laid.  Holy Hell, I needed to shove some flowers in my hair and get me some of this!  But, oh not so fast young man.  The girls I knew were not having so much of it as I wanted to think.

Women’s Lib was pushing for equality in the work place.  Burning Bras in their little parades.  I can’t see how anyone would argue that women deserve absolute equal treatment in the workplace.  We are all equal in the eyes of the law.  And should be.

However, it didn’t really stop there.  It started to turn into Men Bashing.  It was really subtle at first.  Insidious.  Men on TV shows started to become more and more bumbling (lovable?) idiots.  We all loved All in the Family’s Archie Bunker because he wasn’t politically correct in a time of increasing political correctness.  But he was made out to be a buffoon and ridiculed.  All Men Are Like This.

There is an all out attack on men these days.  It’s not even subtle any more.  Female politicians are calling for men to not vote.  “Let the women do it this time” or some such bullshit.  There’s an entire generation of blue haired cat ladies out there now that literally want me to go away.  To die.  Painfully in some cases.

Schools are treating our young boys like defective girls.  Masculinity is called Toxic.  Yet, murdering thousands of unborn babies every year isn’t referred to as Toxic Femininity.  Women are posting selfies on InstaThot in their hospital gowns bragging about their soon-to-be aborted babies.

Equality in the home destroys marriages.  Again, I believe in equality in the Laws of the Land.  Race, religion, gender, all of it.  I will die to protect your rights: women, men, LGBT, elves or whatever you identify as these days.  It’s what America is all about.

But when a husband and wife try to do everything equal in their home, the spark of attraction dies.  When Masculine Energy and Feminine Energy combine, sparks fly.  Good sparks.  The sparks that lead to passion and other intense emotions.  It’s the life force of a  couple.  That flame has to be nurtured and protected.

Men, do not abdicate your throne.  Don’t be lazy and force your wife to lead.  Look in the mirror and analyze why your life is sucking.  Even if you are slaying life right now, guard  you’re flank.  Laziness and complacency will poison what you’ve built.

Feminist groups have turned into Terrorist Organizations these days.  The Me Too movement and the false allegations are destroying lives and sadly, taking the focus off real women who truly have been violated.  Cry wolf enough times and no one cares any longer.  Many women tell me they’ve had enough, especially after the Kavanaugh debacle.

The only way you defeat terrorism is to hunt it down and kill it.  Speak the truth, live the truth.  Be proud of your gender but don’t abandon it or let some group morph it into an abomination.

  1. Archie Bunker…Ah the memories! Let’s not forget his “nu male” son in law, Meathead. A sensitive, new age, got in touch with his feelings and his “inner feminine.” Talk about a prediction of the future. Good post my friend.

  2. Oh man I wish I kept the latest edition of our local small town paper. Some 21 year old girl wrote an unbelievably hysterical “woke” screed about what Kavanaugh’s conformation “means to ME.” It would’ve been funny as an intentional parody, but alas, it was deathly serious.
